Hermite Snakes Plugin

Image analysis tool

Written by Virginie Uhlmann at the Biomedical Image Group (BIG), EPFL, Switzerland

Outline

This software implements a parametric active contour (a.k.a snake) model constructed with cubic Hermite splines. It provides a direct control over the tangents of the parameterized contour, which is absent in traditional spline-based active contours. It allows generating either closed or open curves with a defined number of control points.

Technical Explanations

The present software allows segmenting images with parametric Hermite active contours. It is designed to handle both open and closed curves. It also offers several different choices for the snake energy.

A new version of this software is currently under development. An updated version of the full user manual, software and sources will be available soon. Please contact the authors if you want to try the latest (unstable) version. Thank you for your understanding.
