Self-Similarity, Fractal Models and Spline Approximation

M. Unser

Proceedings of the 2008 International Workshop on Local and Non-Local Approximation in Image Processing (LNLA'08), Lausanne VD, Swiss Confederation, August 23-24, 2008, pp. 1.

Invariance is an attractive principle for specifying image processing algorithms. In this presentation, we concentrate on self-similarity—more precisely, shift, scale and rotation invariance—and identify the corresponding class of operators in d dimensions.
