Polyharmonic wavelets for a dyadic subsampling scheme

2005
Master Semester Project
Project: 00093

00093
Polyharmonic wavelet are a new and exciting family of wavelets. Recently, our lab has proposed new flavors based on a more isotropic discretization of the Laplacian operator. Until so far, we have implemented these wavelets for the so-called quincunx subsampling scheme. For reasons of comparison, it would be interesting to have them also available for the more classical dyadic subsampling scheme. The aim of this project is to implement in Matlab the polyharmonic wavelet transform with dyadic subsampling. Secondly, one can also look at the most interesting alternatives to select the three wavelets spanning the high-pass subbands. As a prerequisite for this project, the student should have some basic knowledged of Matlab programming.
