Polyharmonic wavelets for a dyadic subsampling scheme

Azzabi Zouraq Salim
Section Système de Communication, EPFL

Semester project
June 2005

Overview

Wavelets are mathematical functions that cut up data into different frequency components, and then study each component with a resolution matched to its scale. For this project we used polyharmonic B-splines to build multidimensinal wavelet bases. In particular, we focus on the two-dimensional dyadic subsampling scheme. We derive a family of polyharmonic spline wavelets corresponding to the different flavors of the semi-orthogonal wavelet transform; e.g. othonormal, B-spline, dual.
