Abstract
This project is part of a biological project concerning the immune system. Biologists are studying the mobility of T cells in reaction to different treatments. To quantify those reactions, they manually analyse the shape of the plasmic membrane's deformations (synapses). The aim of this project is to provide an algorithm that automatically performs this task. The plugin performs the detection of the cells by means of a difference of Gaussians filter (DoG) and recovers the shape of the membrane using a region growing algorithm. The latter uses a cost function bases on intensity and gradient criteria, as well as a shape criterion.
