Matlab Exercise #6 - Analysis of Regularity.

In this exercise we will explore the regularity of the scaling functions obtained from the filter banks.

Construct the reduced transition matrix for the following refinement filters

    1. cubic spline,

    2. length 4 daubechies and

    3. Smith-Barnwell filter (ref ex#5).
 

    Perform an eigen decomposition of these matrices and deduce

a) whether or not the corresponding scaling functions are in L_2 ?

b) the samples of the autocorrelation function

c) The regularity of the underlying scaling functions
