Mathews Jacob was
born on 16th of June 1975 at Kerala, India. He obtained his
B.Tech in ECE from the REC (now NIT), Calicut,
Kerala in 1996. For one year, he worked with Wipro R&D on
hardware design. He received his M.E and PhD degrees from the
Indian Institute of
Science, Bangalore and the Biomedical Imaging Group at
the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology respectively. He is currently working as a a postdoctoral
fellow at the Beckman Institute at
UIUC as . His research interests include sampling theory, steerable
filters, shape extraction, image processing etc.
