Optical Diffraction Tomography: Principles and Algorithms
Thanh-an Pham, EPFL STI LIB

Meeting • 09 May 2017

Abstract
In this presentation, I will present preliminary results of my work on the Optical Diffraction Tomography~(ODT) which aims to reconstruct the Refractive Index distribution of the studied medium. The acquisition setting illuminates the sample with a controlled incident field and measures the scattered field. Two types of scenarios are currently considered. The first one recovers the complex field by interferometry, whereas the second one only uses the intensity measurements. After an introduction of the principles of ODT, I will introduce several measurement models describing the wave behaviour at different levels of approximations and will compare their reconstruction performances through 2D numerical simulation in the first scenario. After the description of the problem formulation for the second scenario, I will compare the reconstruction performance between the two scenarios through 2D numerical simulation.
