Optimal Lattices in Volume Graphics

Abstract
The Body-Centred Cubic (BCC) as well as the Face-Centred Cubic (FCC) have been known to be advantageous over the Cartesian Cubic (CC) for a while, but have found almost no attention by the practitioner. In this talk I will try to explain in what sense these lattices are advantageous and how some of our work could make them more practical and feasible for applications ranging from medical imaging to scientific computing.
