AbstractWe start by recalling the challenges inherent to undersampled acquisitions in MRI. After briefly describing the inverse problem approach to image reconstruction, we present our two main directions of research: 1) the development of an analytical phantom in order to validate reconstruction algorithms with reliable simulations, 2) the design of non-linear reconstruction algorithms and investigation of their performance. Specifically, we propose algorithms that are tailored to the MRI reconstruction problem in order to speedup the reconstruction process. We present results on both simulated and scanner data and we show that non-linear reconstruction can clearly outperform standa
