AbstractThe work is devoted to the mathematical description of 3D signal transformation in the microscope imaging and illuminating channels. To analyze image forming in the microscope it is need to use different characteristics of the system. The 3D point spread function is a three dimensional impulse response of an optical system. This function is connected with the optical transfer function via direct and inverse three-dimensional Fourier transforms. This function is useful for evaluation of spatial resolution of microscope optics in three-dimensional space. That is why calculation and analysis of a 3D PSF is very important in optical microscopy. The modelling of image recording should take into account the microscopy characteristics for accurate estimation of the quality of the captured image.
