AbstractThe Lippman-Schwinger equation is a model of light propagation that takes into account multiple scattering. In this work, we present a nonlinear inverse problem framework to invert the Lippmann-Schwinger equation. We first describe an appropriate discretization of the free-space Helmholtz Green's function to improve the conditioning of the forward model. The inverse problem is formulated in the Total Variation framework and is solved via an ADMM minimisation scheme. The method is applied to the diffraction tomography setup. The objects are considered to be transparent. The main advantage of this method is to take into account multiple scattering, including reflections.
