AbstractDue to new modalities and recent advantages in imaging, the size of the data is constantly increasing and the current reconstruction methods are limited by memory issues. The goal of this project is to introduce domain decomposition methods, which allow us to reduce the reconstruction problem to a sequence of smaller sub-problems of a more manageable size. We propose two methods for total variation minimization, one with non-overlapping subdomains and another with overlapping subdomains. Finally, as the convergence of both methods is slow, we suggest a multigrid approach for a better initialization and a faster convergence.
