My Life and Crimes in Electron Microscopy

Abstract
I will recount my professional journey from computer vision into electron microscopy. I will use the opportunity to describe different aspects of electron microscopy, focussing on the electron optics of high-resolution electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM). Special emphasis will be placed on a number of computational methods that are necessary to reach true atomic resolution.
