Fractal analysis of 3-D human skin data
2006
Master Semester Project
Project: 00124
In this project we want to develop a method for fractal analysis of 3-D data of the human skin, e.g., as on the corner of the eye as shown in the image. Fractal characterization of biomedical data has found a large number of appliations.
First, we want to determine a proper region-of-interest (ROI) on the image that contains the main features. Second, a 2D variogram should be calculated to extract the essential fractal parameters. The evolution of these parameters over time should then be studied, e.g., to evaluate the effect of a moistening cream.
