Guitar-tuner app for the iPhone
Autumn 2013
Master Semester Project
Project: 00252
The goal of this project is to develop a smartphone application for tuning a guitar. The application should be able to record, analyze and display the frequency of individual notes in real time.
The project will involve the following steps:
1) prototyping of the digital signal-processing modules under Matlab;
2) implementation of a complete real-time algorithm in Objective-C;
3) design of a graphical user interface.
If time permits, the student may try to extend the application so as to allow for music transcription.
The student should have a good background in 1D signal processing, solid programming skills and a keen interest for music.
