Flow field enhancement with divergence-free wavelets

Project: 00269
Phase-contrast MRI (PC-MRI) enables the acquisition of blood flow in a specific vascular region with volumetric coverage. As for all MRI recordings, PC-MRI measurements are degraded by noise. Moreover, the physical properties of the flow are not enforced.
Since blood flow is incompressible, the corresponding flow field is divergence free. Therefore, we propose to use divergence-free wavelets to perform enhancement and correction tasks on this data. Using wavelets that are adapted to the model, we expect improved performance over general vector field processing tools.
Goals:
1. Implement Divergence-free wavelets in Java
2. Validate the applicability of the method on real blood flow data
