Variational approaches for optical flow estimation
Spring 2015
Master Diploma
Project: 00306

Optical flow is the projection on the image plane of the 3D motion of the observed scene. Standard approaches for optical flow estimation formulate the problem as a variational optimisation of regularized models. The aim of this project is to overcome limitations of conventional regularisation strategies by introducing new regularizers.
Prerequisites: Proficiency in MATLAB programming; solid understanding of linear algebra; some familiarity with convex optimisation would be helpful but is not strictly necessary.
