3D Steerable Filter for Foam Junction Detection
Autumn 2016
Master Semester Project
Master Diploma
Project: 00312
Wavelet representations are ideally suited to local feature detection in images. In particular, steerable wavelets (and steerable filters) have gained interest for efficient and accurate rotationally-invariant object detection. This is especially relevant for biological applications. The goal of this project is to implement a 3D steerable filter for junction detection in volumetric foams as a Matlab program or an ImageJ plugin with a user interface. The method will be used to detect junctions in various three-dimensional foam images.
